Divorce Mediation Training for Professionals
During the last decade, divorce mediation has emerged as an alternative to the traditional legal system. As a result, there is a continuing need for approved, professionally trained neutral third parties to assist divorcing couples in identifying, negotiating and resolving the issues that arise from the decision to divorce.
This intense five day (42 hour) course covers all aspects of the divorce process. With the changes in child support, parenting, financial issues in the family system and diversity of cultures in the world this course provides a wealth of information.
When Professional Boundaries Collide: A Dialogue for Professionals Working with Divorcing Couples
A course for accountants, attorneys , counselors, financial planners, mediators, social workers and therapists. An examination of how we work collaboratively with other professions on behalf of our clients.

Juvenile Mediation Training
This 21 hour training will qualify you for mediation in juvenile issues. A prerequisite for this course is the General/Civil Mediation Training.
Melissa Heard, MSSW, is the trainer for this course. Melissa has been doing this training for the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and some of the Juvenile Courts around the state since 2002. Cost is $650.00.
General/Civil Mediation
At the conclusion of this training program, participants will have experienced, practiced and taken ownership of many different mediation techniques by actually experiencing them in real life simulations. As trained, neutral third party facilitators, they can then enable disputants to clarify perceptions, focus on individual and shared needs, look to the future, generate options and help them construct workable agreements. We only offer this course off site for pre-filled requests. For Georgia mediators this course is required prior to completion of the Divorce/Family course. Domestic Violence
When mediators deal with divorce situations, often there are elements of domestic violence present. This two day advanced course in domestic violence issues in mediation looks at recognizing domestic violence, looks at ways to protect the safety of the victim during the mediation session, has simulation role plays and brings in outside experts in the field. More and more states are requiring this additional training for their domestic mediators.
